this is the thing that drives me so crazy about this. They're RPGs! They're designed with RPG progression so that anyone can see it through to the end with enough patience!! It's fucking Dragon Quest!!!

it's kind of neat if you have 4 Game Boy Advance™ systems with 4 Game Link™ cables to connect it to your GameCube™ as well as three friends who are interested in playing a fairly slow-paced co-op action RPG with "cozy" aesthetics, which almost nobody did, which is why almost nobody played it

also when you confront Liquid Snake on the gantry in front of REX and he jumps up on the guardrail and starts casually doing front flips while delivering his monologue. Pure cinema

I had already seen Versus by the time Twin Snakes came out so I was fully Kitamura-pilled from the jump. My fave cutscene is the part where the ArmsTech president forgets the codec number and Snake flips out and threatens to shoot him in the head. Totally out of character but made me laugh out loud

really love the use of halftone and smudged ink here, but mostly just thinking about how you can push your little house around in the first Dragon Slayer game…

I know how much it sucks when you feel like you're stuck in a creative dead end, and you shouldn't force yourself to slog through if it's not something you want to do. But sometimes when you're blocked there's nothing else for it but to walk back and forth grinding random encounters for a while

It might feel kind of pointless at first but the goal is not to create a finished piece, it's just an exercise to help develop your skills. You could also try experimenting with different styles or mediums… try different things, see if anything shakes loose

You could use a photo reference in a pinch, but it's better if it's a real 3D object in front of you because part of what you're training is your understanding of form and volume and how to translate that into a 2D image.

You could try drawing the cat! The main thing is to only give yourself a few minutes to draw as much of the subject as you can before moving on to the next drawing, just copying what you see as accurately as possible without thinking about it too much or worrying about how the final result looks.

Have you ever tried going to a life drawing class? I think in general anyone who's trying to improve their art should practice sketching live models if they're comfortable with it, but I wonder if it might specifically help some of these issues in particular. Though I guess COVID has made it harder…

It might be something to ask a veterinarian about. Does he get any weird symptoms like dilated pupils or rippling skin? My current guy has feline hyperesthesia and gets really aggressive when he has an episode, so he gets a few drops of CBD oil to chill him out and then he's better after a nap
