you’re being negative not critical. Suggests things we can do differently. Outline actions that would bring ’meaningful change.’ Organize your locals to strike at the next call. Whining that Americans historically take actions that don’t do anything changes nothing. You so smart? Then fix it already

Okay, boomer. Changing people, individually, one by one is meaningful change. When they broadcast the attack on protesters on the Edmund Pettus bridge, it was real for people. Just because you don’t know anyone who was moved to action by the no kings protests, doesn’t make it true or meaningless.

You think because you weren’t changed that no one was changed. Protests don’t work like on TV, w/ one big event & POOF! all is fixed. Movements happen slowly, then all at once. Civil Rights took decades. You wanna be useful, Eeyore? Be supportive instead of negative. Or STFU & get out of the way.

it is always possible that something won’t work. It’s also possible that it will. Do you think it’s helpful to have someone standing on the sidelines telling you you’re doing it wrong while you’re in the middle of a doing something? No? Then don’t be that guy. You wanna help? You organize a strike.

This is a real strike w/real consequences. Real people are engaging in it all over the country. It builds momentum and gives visibility so others feel more confident to join the next one. Resistance is not just one big event but the accumulation of many small actions. We’re laying groundwork.

It felt more like a trash can fire when I lived there. There was still a possibility you could put it out without it taking out the nearby building. Now, it’s just too big!

Same. I moved back from Glasgow/London in December 2022. Not that the UK isn’t a dumpster fire outside an abandoned mall right now but it’s certainly a distinction.

Also brioche is the best! It’s soft but bounces back. And even when it’s a little old, it makes the best French toast!
