Emissions from power generation, construction materials, transportation and steel all fell in January-September, but two major obstacles to emission reductions in China stand out: the chemical industry and lack of progress on switching to electric steelmaking.

@doynefarmer.bsky.social et al included electrolyzers as a “learning curve technology” in their 2022 paper, but with less data than eg batteries and wide uncertainty. What is Embers current outlook on electrolyzers and p2x within “electrify everything”? www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti....

Under the circumstances, if America can hold on to democracy, and scale up affordable next-gen geothermal power at the same time, I’m not sure the rest of the world could ask for much more. Go America!
