it is also my guess that perhaps they didn't consider recasting the current actors with new young ones because it wouldn't feel right :') the current cast have become so iconic after playing these swords for ten years haha

there was a line in their farewell announcement that was like この報告は、「終幕」ではなく、「これまでの歩みを未来へ繋ぐための一区切り」としてのものでございます。so my wild guess is that they will graduate the current cast but it may continue in future with younger actors playing new swords 👀 there are still sooo many swords that haven't appeared

would be nice if a means of communication existed where words were clearly spelt out in black and white in a form where everyone can read them!

i feel like it's a way to gracefully graduate the current cast cos toumyu is a very physically demanding production and already at the 10th anniv show i wondered how much longer the actors in their 30s can go on, haha (like no shade to 30+ folks bc i am one and i could Not do what they do)

yeah!!! i feel like most series just end with like "and the next one is the last one thank you for your support!" so having this two year farewell runway feels very thoughtful and loving, like they understand the fans will want to properly say goodbye

already when watching the 10th anniv, i wondered how long the series could go on with all these actors not getting any younger, and toumyu being a VERY demanding show physically. i also didn't feel like this was a show you could recast. so i think it was a brave and good choice to plan the ending

the fact that all the actors had their posts prepared (and Mario wrote such a long comment it made me super emo) also shows that they were informed well in advance, which i appreciate. and i generally also appreciate it when a series knows when to call time instead of dragging on too long
