I’ve been a Chiefs fan for many years since moving to Missouri from Colorado as a child. Since my team is out, I am returning to my childhood loyalties and rooting for Denver in the AFC Championship, despite the odds. Let’s go!

This is 100% FALSE. Immigration judges do NOT play any role in issuing administrative warrants. They are generated and signed by ICE officers themselves. ICE’s own training materials say they can’t be used for a search of a home!

Here’s a blank warrant form. Note who signs it.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Worth reading this declaration by one of the plaintiffs in a recent suit challenging discriminatory arrests in Minnesota. I’ll link to the lawsuit itself in the comments.

Does anyone have a resource for where to find audio versions of Supreme Court opinions?

Really great piece for anyone from the Christian community.
From @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“Too many Christians are transforming Christianity into a vertical faith, one that focuses on your personal relationship with God at the expense of the horizontal relationship you have with your neighbors,” writes our columnist David French.

Parenting is saying things like: “that’s not evening gum.” Because of course there is evening gum and daytime gum and one cannot chew daytime gum at night. Right?

I wonder what percentage of NYT sudoku players are other parents siting in kids’ rooms at night with a music or story playing on their phone desperately wanting/waiting for said kid to fall asleep…

Good words for Resurrection Sunday. “It’s easy to look at a politicized faith and despair…But there is another faith — one far removed from the headlines — that is doing something else entirely.”
There is a different version of the Christian faith, one that is far removed from the political headlines.

This faith loves its enemies. It mends the broken heart. And it declares, by word and deed, that no one is too lost to experience the love of God. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/o...

Same judge considering the state secret privilege invocation for when a plane departed will now examine legal issues potentially including whether it was classified that the government was about to bomb an apparently civilian building in a foreign country. What a timeline.

Interesting issue - a good one to watch!
For the first time in American history, servicemembers today can be court-martialed for certain offenses *without* a right to be tried by a panel.

We're asking #SCOTUS to decide whether the "short-martial" Congress debuted in 2019 violates the Due Process Clause:

Exciting opportunity to make oral arguments more accessible to the public without having to guess at what time to arrive for the public line!
The Supreme Court announced a pilot program for members of the public to reserve courtroom seats for oral arguments in advance.

Currently, the court provides seats on a first-come, first-served basis. Lines often start early in the morning, or even the day before for big cases.
