The only problem with drawing a reaction doodle to clap back is that it only works on bsky since it takes too long to be silly on discord with it.

Almost 3 years ago, I made some predictions on the desolate birdsite about the future of video games. I'm gonna copy those here and lets see how we're getting on (My predictions were for 2035 but I wonder if times have shifted in that regard)
Lanta @rocketlanterns on Twitter: Prediction for 2035: Sony drops out of the gaming market, leaving the PS5 as their final console. Microsoft creates the Microsoft Box, which is a "console" that is just a PC with dedicated gaming hardware in it. Deck sales continue strong and become a formidable force in gaming. Nintendo continues to sit in it's own little corner. Most game developers are now benchmarking their games against the Deck and the Box to ensure they reach the majority of the market. Higher fidelity and frame rate options still exist for people with higher powered computers. Most games now work natively on Linux. Microsoft Windows *might* fall out of favour to gaming audiences and be relegated to office or home environments but it's hard to tell, depends on what OS the Box uses. Thread continues: Someone creates a dedicated tiny console for retro enthusiasts that uses Pico8 or similar retro game studio. Games for it are distributed via an included game cartridge that can be updated with a downloaded rom using a usb cartridge interface. It would also be it's own devkit. (of course, it could also just use a formatted USB drive, but that would be less fun) Oh and one more thing for the list of predictions: Indie gaming is going to continue becoming a bigger thing. AAA gaming is going to fall off when the money stops flowing.
