@langsec.hacker.gf
An alter ego. Nightmare fuel chemist stealing electricity from the alternator of the world. AuDHD, 🇺🇲/🇧🇪, music, machining, lapidary, cats. Pronouns: first and second person ones, darling.
basically, your feral thirstposts translate as "wake up fella, new issue of the mira literary review just dropped"

nb this is a highly idiolectal translation and should not be relied on by anyone else but it's working for me

see the thing is, every time you go into an unhinged feral thirstposting phase, I look back to find out what prompted it, go read it, and it turns out to be something incredibly well written

I don't even mean "well written for hornyfic," I mean "well written full stop"

also highly practically relevant in fields like packaging design

one of my favorite fantasy series when I was a kid is an isekai trilogy where a physicist ends up in a fantasy world where the currency is based on aluminum

yes there is an entire plot where the physicist introduces the bayer process and crashes the global economy

I'm sorry about that time you'll never get back

wild, I've actually read the iron heel

(I have not read the turner diaries and have no particular interest in doing so)

I didn't enjoy it all that much, possibly because I'd already seen the film adaptation of wells' _the shape of things to come_

my most useful trick has been "keep separate mental models of the rhetoric and the person; update and compare them often"

it's for sure a lot of work, but it keeps me both sane and inside their ooda loop

heck, there are lots of different kinds of cut-resistant gloves now

the chainmail ones are definitely the coolest, though

my mom likes to give them as christmas presents, but I think she's just concerned about slip and fall accidents

my void loves bread, pinto beans, and potato chips. my tabbico is obsessed with doritos and has been ever since she was small enough to crawl into the bag and steal them
November 27, 2025 at 5:51 PM
agreed. I think the fundamental mistake most prediction market advocates make is that any market is only really informative if it's too large for a cartel (or a single actor, which is just a very small cartel) to swing

she's super duper soft, too. I wish we could post softness on the internet
November 27, 2025 at 4:46 PM
aww, she looks so much like my malysh
November 27, 2025 at 4:41 PM
granted, the likelihood of any pic in my camera roll being one of the cats is far higher than the chance of being anything else

I distinctly recall the body shop at one point selling shaving brushes made from sustainably farmed badger hair, though I don't remember where the badgers were being farmed exactly
November 27, 2025 at 4:27 PM
that really screws anyone with an avid enough enemy, though :(
November 27, 2025 at 4:25 PM
surely "thou shalt not have started an active border dispute, it is okay to be trying to finish one someone else started" should suffice?
November 27, 2025 at 4:21 PM
what about when nepo babies do it

I once got my dad a t-shirt with three cartoon porcupines on it, with their spikes drawn as single, double, and triple carbon bonds, labeled "porcupane," "porcupene," and "porcupyne"

he still wears it all the time, he loves chemistry dad jokes

right, I'm thinking of the opposite strategy, where you manipulate the market to make a certain area look weak from the market's perspective, lure in your opponent, then bet for yourself at the last minute
November 27, 2025 at 11:45 AM
short version: russia has plenty of volume to manipulate a prediction market with, and in war as in law, you shouldn't take advice from your opponent or their representative

thanks for sharing that, it's really well made

was absolutely not expecting "oh there's a chekhov's gun in this story and it's grandma" but I especially enjoyed that part
