I like Games, movies, walks, music.
The only concern I have with the steam machine is if its future proof. I guess with cross gen being so long, it will probably be good until 2032?

As Rich said this is a preview for what Microsoft plan to do with Xbox. Open platforms are just better then closed platforms, more choice, more games. The steam machine is bringing console like convenience closer and closer to reality.

You once said pc hardware like a console didn't interest you..

How many hours do you game per week in average?

The reality is Xbox is still a hardware platform and the idea of pc/Xbox with steam is something people want. The energy is high in the Xbox community for this to happen. I know this is not John's opinion, but I just want to give my 2 cents and say that not everyone thinks like John does about Xbox.

incredible cast

To be fair to them there wasn't much nuance in what you said in the direct, you quite clearly lay out where you think Xbox currently is in the industry.

I wouldn't bother, if its not an issue for you, I wouldn't start looking for it or maybe you will develop an OCD for it.

it doesn't have a "slow mo" mode?
June 24, 2025 at 1:43 PM
yeah in MKW, I don't notice it. However I think I notice it slightly in mario Odyssey and BOTW switch 2 editions.

could be a resolution thing

How much battery do you think an overdrive option would take? it cant be much?

If GTA6 had the same visual quality as RDR2 I would not be unhappy. Its still good enough not to be distracting and convey the world and characters well enough.
June 23, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Its close but I give it Hellblade 2. DS2 is great looking, but lacking RTGi and a micro geometry system, plus other things make it seem more like a cross gen game visually. Which aint a criticism given how this gen has gone. As long as the game is made well, state of the art is just not as important
June 23, 2025 at 6:00 PM
yeah... in 2028 😭
June 23, 2025 at 5:51 PM
its varies on the game and user sensitivity. I find mario kart world looks great but 2d games like metroid dread do look blurry in motion, but other LCD's also look blurry in a similar way. So while its worse than the average LCD , the switch2 is not that different to me.
June 23, 2025 at 5:49 PM
is it slower than the PSP1000? I think the psp1000 has a 30ms response time, not that it excuses the switch 2s abysmal motion performance.

These thugs throwing rocks needed to be caged, they are very dangerous.

Hopefully you do a review of the Switch 2 and compare it Switch 1 lcd + oled, as well as the steam deck lcd, maybe other PC handhelds like the lenovo legion go S, just to see how the Switch 2s screen and speakers compare.
June 8, 2025 at 7:49 AM
yeah well, sucks for those folks. However for those not susceptible its a good screen 👍
June 8, 2025 at 7:26 AM
Yes, it dont have the true blacks and pop of an OLED. but it is not a bad screen. It about the quality of a mid range tablet. A $449 device is not going to be top of the range. Dont forget a base ipad is $349 with half the RAM and storage, no joycons, dock or charger.

A Tesla.

Are you and John gonna play oblivion, one playing the original and the other playing the remastered, and you talk about the teck, history of the the 2 different versions and show the differences between them? hope you do, loved the one with half life 2 path traced.
April 22, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Gaming is great today, but does this kind of show that games today dont really push it to the next level like oblivion did back in the day? Ive played Oblivion remake for the 1st time and its seems just as "next gen" as games releasing today.
