NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

I’m voting no on the continuing resolution that would double healthcare premiums for 20 million Americans, kick 15 million people off Medicaid & allow 50,000 Americans to die unnecessarily every year.

All to give $1 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

The thought of the dems coming out of Election Day with huge wins and then immediately caving on the shutdown and sacrificing healthcare is both completing illogical and totally them.

I constantly think about the amount of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that have been needlessly created in the past 10 months in this country, all while making it more difficult to receive services for the treatment of trauma. It’s devastating.

Housing is a public health imperative
At first glance, limiting emergency assistance shelter looks like it will save the state money, writes Divya Manoharan. But forcing people – especially those with uncontrolled illness – back into home...
