Since you don't have live plants you could leave the lights off for like 3 days and see if that makes a difference (kills some of it). Then reduce the number of hours a day. As long as your fish isn't getting upsetti spaghetti about it. I know my betta gives no fucks as long as he's fed.

How big is the tank? How much water do you take out/how often? What kind of filter? Live or fake plants? Is it near a window? How long do you keep your lights on? Is it green slime on the surfaces or is the water green itself green? Are you possibly overfeeding? Hello, I work in aquatics sometimes.
