My turn on the layoff merry-go-round! I'm devastated personally, obviously, but fully aware that this is just the latest in an industry that seems to be collapsing everywhere.

I think, outside of you know, the whole losing my job aspect of it all, that upsets me most --- there truly are SO FEW places left that treat Books as something beyond fodder for film or TV adaptations, and it makes me so sad.

I do think worker owned media like @popheist.com is the future I just have to find my way into one lol (PopHeist don’t suppose yall need a Books Editor for cheap lol?)

I’m heartbroken for so many reasons. I am considering a newsletter/site type thing but honestly it feels overwhelming finding how to begin. 🫠
