It made me really annoyed at how the CGI could look *very* good at times (in the sense of how the models interacted with light and the environments, and how crisp and tactile they looked) and yet they often looked more like toys came to life rather than real animals.

wow! did you do all the scale work manually? they look very non-repetitive if that makes sense
