It's not like marijuana sold retail is regularly tested to make sure it doesn't have stuff like that. I mean the FDA struggles severely to even keep up with monitoring what's on like salad greens, and marijuana is not getting close to that level of scrutiny.

I also wouldn't be shocked if someone was selling weed tainted with something that makes you throw up violently, especially if you burn it. I think some pesticides are chemically similar to some of the substances militaries and police used to induce violent vomiting (they saw use in WWI).

Probably the next round of negotiations about that will start in the next few years. The ACC contract runs through 2036, but it probably will be forced into renegotiation before then by ACC teams. The Notre Dame relationship is very valuable to the ACC and they're damaging it for no possible gain.

Notre Dame can partner with other leagues or join a non football league like the Big East. They won't have any trouble scheduling football opponents and they're not likely to face financial issues if they do that. The reason they're tied to the ACC is to provide a home for their other sports.

And it's so ugly and nasty from both Miami people and ACC higher ups that I think it seriously starts to put in jeopardy Notre Dame's future relationship with the ACC. I don't think they'll do anything precipitous, but Notre Dame has other options and the ACC is not acting like a good partner.

But Miami is going scorched earth attacking Notre Dame instead of questioning why Oklahoma and Alabama are ranked so highly. And only getting the committee to reevaluate Oklahoma and Alabama would have been a path to getting legit playoff consideration for Miami. It's depressing and frustrating.

Probably right now #8 should be Notre Dame, #9 or 10 should be BYU, #9 or 10 should be Miami, #11 should be Alabama, and #12 should be Oklahoma. That's assuming you don't penalize Ole Miss for losing their head coach (which is a problem).

The playoff committee overrating Oklahoma and Alabama is what's stopping Miami from getting in. Notre Dame being ranked highly helps them. The more the playoff committee knocks Notre Dame the worse Miami looks because their win over Notre Dame is the big achievement on their resume.

In the absence of building a more inclusive society where people work collaboratively to understand and work with people who are different, both to understand them and hold them accountable in a fair way, bad actors are going to be the people with the most success using this argument.

And telling them apart turns out to really be not trivial. Maybe I've seen more of that used as an excuse than most coming up in physics. But the reality is that this isn't a new problem and to be honest it seems like harmless people are more likely to get punished for bad vibes.
