The labor librarian
@laborlibrarian.bsky.social
Grew up in a UFW/IWW household. Now I’m a librarian (public to academic), union thug, and general roustabout.

Anonymous because I’m not tenured yet.

Pro-Palestinian, pro-trans, anti-racist, and not fit for human consumption.
Despite every sense of logic telling me that it was objectively terrible, I love this movie.

Yes! And no AI cover letters. No matter how “well” they’re written, they are always vague and never actually address how your skills and experience are suited for that specific job.

Yes! I was a creative writing/interior design undergrad and now I’m an education/school psychology librarian

Also, this seems really basic, but don’t ghost interviewers. I know they do it to you and I don’t agree with that either, but still don’t do it.

I had a candidate fully ghost me for a final round interview, and #mlis students and recent grads, I cannot tell you how much you should not do that (1/ )

The best advice I got was the more flexible you can be with location, the better your chances of landing a job. I had like a 6 state radius that I searched in and it took me a year to get hired m, but folks who were willing to go anywhere got hired long before me.
