What gets to decide what is and what isn’t adult content. It censors LGBTQ which politicians deem as “adult content”. What about news that is seen as graphic like war are we going to have that behind a ID barrier. There should be no reason for laws like this to exist. Parents need to do better.

People’s ID’s should not be collected straight up. It’s only going to cause an increase in stolen identities and more cyber crime. I would suggest everyone where legislation is being enacted to step up and message your representatives. This doesn’t just effect adult content it effects everything.

Collecting people’s ID’s for age verification is a nightmare and ineffective. Yes it will stop some but most know where their parents ID’s are and/or have ways to bypass restrictions either via fake ids or tricking AI algorithms. And it’s a privacy risk as well. What if there is a data breach.

There is no reason why government need to step in to protect children. That should be parents jobs. And with more and more of these laws being passed it’s only a matter of time before this becomes a global thing where everything that is “adult content” is locked behind an age verification.
