It puts a smile on my face every day to be able to bike freely, have my oldest ride her own self to school, and see people using the entire street, worry-free. It is the complete opposite experience from the cartoon in the final image, from Karl Jilg, which captures the American street experience.

Yes! Very lucky to experience this lightness every day in Paris.
I don't know if it is just not that popular or if I somehow missed hearing about it on previous trips to Paris, but the Coulée Verte is a gem.
While it won't have the same vibes, I'm excited for the Durham Rail Trail. The experience in Paris really brings home how this can be an amazing amenity.

Fet de Terra in Spain is doing some really cool work with rammed earth elements in similar applications (would replace the stone here): www.fetdeterra.com/producto/bov...

What are the main points of contention? I’ve been on the section in the 12th and it seemed a shame that is has stayed a weird little dead-end footpath. With the success of bike infrastructure elsewhere in Paris, I would think this is a natural next step!

It really is unbelievable here how quiet, safe, and stress-free the roads are in the middle of a massive metropolis. And nothing technical or costly about it—just a change in priorities.

This is my experience with AI. As someone not trained in CS, I can build my own little apps and scripts. These are projects that wouldn't be big enough to justify paying an expert, but are certainly worth spending an hour or two with AI holding my hand along they way.
