It depends on the event really. US election last year, from memory, saw about 4 million+ on election day.
Big days on the business and federal politics blogs would be 300,000+ but it varies.
The biggest blog I ever oversaw was the Matildas beating France at the World Cup, which was 1 million+.

*The NRL outperformed the AFL on the big days, but overall AFL was consistently more popular in the regular season
*Blogs live and die on what happens, rather than relying on a 'regular viewer' mentality like TV
