COMMENTARY: Choose people over politics in helping our neighbors through the government shutdown

The Vibrant Denver Bond packages similar projects, to build community buy-in and prevent controversial projects from being rejected. I asked Mayor Johnston why voters should have to approve projects to assist the Broncos' billionaire owners in order to fix crumbling bridges.

There is no organized, well-funded opposition to the bond. Mayor Johnston defended the idea of borrowing to fund mega infrastructure project, rather than paying less in cash for a less ambitious project list.

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston says he doesn't view the nearly $1B Vibrant Denver Bond vote as a referendum on his leadership. I asked him how voters should register disapproval other than by voting against the bond. #copolitics

COMMENTARY: Why I'm raising money for a food bank in a deep red, pro-Trump area during the government shutdown

Politicians are playing games with SNAP benefits while food banks are overwhelmed with need. Screw politics. Let’s just help people. I’ll match the next fifty $5 donations to the Weld Food Bank: weldfoodbank.org/wordofthanks/

There's a bipartisan push by some in Colorado's congressional delegation to free a father and children seized by ICE on their way to school in Durango. ICE has not suggested the father committed any crime.

A small town police force bragged that citizens "can't get a breath of fresh air in or out without us knowing" thanks to Flock surveillance cameras.

They used the cameras to wrongly accused a woman of a crime, forcing her to find other surveillance video to prove her innocence.
