The country reelected him after a ridiculous number of similarly hateful comments and obviously disgusting behavior, so clearly a lot of people don’t care or are willing to ignore it. I feel like I’m losing my mind. 😞

Wasn’t there a movement to drop all the Hs in “burgh” cities in PA at one point? I went to grad school in Greensburg and always thought it was weird that it wasn’t GreensburgH. 😂

... it seems impossible to get a continuing or TT position. I've got some options, to be clear, but just nothing truly stable with good pay. I'm also very fortunate not to be the sole breadwinner in my household. It just feels super frustrating. :( 4/4

... but ultimately found that--even with all the AI, governmental interference, smartphone addicted students, admin issues, enrollment cliff, etc., I had spent a decade in grad school and by golly, this is really what I *DO*. It also seems impossible to get out after a certain point, even as... 3/

... of Covid. Now that my 5-year FT gig is ending in the spring, I'm applying like mad and really doing my best, had some interviews last summer that sadly did not pan out, but just generally feeling torn and uncertain for next year. A while back, I tried to pivot out of higher ed entirely... 2/
