If you use the new MUNI day pass straight-to-clipper thing, it tells you on the bus "pass about to expire" about an hour after first tap.

PGE has announced that all residential customers will automatically get $200 and commercial ones $2500 as a credit on their next bill. Is this an attempt to dodge a suit?

Wow, my first ever power outage in this house. That atmospheric river must be rivering hard.

With Clipper still completely borked, (I've gotten over 50 emails today) why are fare inspectors out at all? I was surprised my card even worked at all considering I did the conversion.

I think generative AI only has one purpose: making my dog into random things.

This is a valid use of speed on the Great Highway.

What's with all the people coked out in mission bars lately? It's getting scary in places, multiple times I've had to back up lone femme bartenders.

Remember these? They'd be useful these days.

What horrific software is SFO using that taxi medallion holders have to log into the app in a specific time window to get a configuration update?

I've been on the program committee for droidconNYC for a few years now and attendee for nearly decade. I understand why they felt like staying in NYC wasn't financially viable, but moving to Florida (let alone Orlando) is such a disappointing decision, especially for LGBTQ+ members of the community

I have an interview with Waymo tomorrow to work on the in-car system. How many followers will murder me if I join?

Now that I'm up to date on the D4 supe drama, I can no longer say Laurie hasn't done anything stupid enough to make me doubt him like Breed has.

I want to do a gross thing and publish AI-generated (but lyrics by me!) to Spotify and such. It is an album making fun of AI in a theater format. Any recommended services? It's looking like DistroKid is the way to go.

Ew, http://firecrawl.dev replaced a bike store in the Lower Haight. Their product is exactly one of the unethical parts of AI. They are building a content scraper to take this like this Toot and feed it into your model.
Firecrawl - The Web Data API for AI
The web crawling, scraping, and search API for AI. Built for scale. Firecrawl delivers the entire internet to AI agents and builders. Clean, structured, and ready to reason with.

Remote coding interviews where you have to use your own machine have so much implicit bias built into them. As I haven't had a personal OS X machine in a decade, I have to use my Linux box which leads to...interesting shenanigans.

I'm right by the White House and it's dead except me and a bunch of National Guard troops just kinda standing in a clump talking.

Took me about an hour outside of the DC part of Virginia to run into a dual-wielding Trump hat Kirk shirter.

Sounds like we need to find where the Cluely CEO is illegally living in his office in SoMa and throw him out. He's the guy who started the company with the motto "cheat on anything". https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/16/technology/san-francisco-rent-ai-boom.html

When is Trump sending the national guard to New York City? I saw a guy in full WWII-era German military garb on the subway platform this morning.

NYC uses the term "curb your dog" on a bunch of signs. The term has never made sense to me. Where did it come from and what is it supposed to mean now? Horses were the root?

Way too early for me to be calling the fire department because of a deranged arsonist
