Seattleite since the 90s. Motorcyclist/Bicyclist. Site Reliability Engineer. Leadership by Anecdote. Owned by Cats. Proud Papa of a Washington State Coug.
Twenty years ago I absolutely lusted after the Honda CB400N inline-4 sport bikes. Friend in Malaysia almost talked me into importing a handful of them. Just absolute little screamers ❤️

100% here for this. It’s all we actually ever needed

Also explains why they’re hiring a bunch of Engineers. Had a recruiter message me about them the other day and I about spat my coffee

Truly. Conceptually at least, it’s the best motorcycle hauler ever made. Not to mention fond memories of my Dad driving me around in one when i was about 2 years old. ❤️❤️❤️

Indeed. One particularly skilled trash-bird managed to paint the *inside* of my helmet while rolling up to a stop light a few years back

Legit feels very Seattle though. Form a committee and submit a 300 page report after three years is the only socially acceptable response to anything here

But where else am I going to store the 300 hours of vintage blues I lovingly burned to disc? Oh. Right-o, off to take my Geritol now.

If Saints fans hate the Pats, I’m there making room at the table. That meal serves family style

Be great business for transmission shops in any city that isn’t perfectly flat. Gridlock traffic on an 11% grade sucks, and even my 15yo Mazda 5 minivan can do sub-10s?

Oof. Sorry you’re having to deal with that. I had really bad reactions to that one too

Wife and I bought all our daughters satin hair bonnets with enormously long ties for Christmas a few years back. They would 100% riot at the mere suggestion of not wearing them every night.

It’s wild. Town I grew up in had 50 students in the senior class in 1910. The school district folded in 1986 when there were but 7 students in the high school.

Because the school had all the senior photos up in the cafeteria, we understood even as small children we lived in a shrinking world

I call Kootenai County “Tax Evasion County” because of all the biz execs declaring residency there to avoid capital gains taxes here. Really noticeable on the exotic cars rolling through downtown Seattle with Idaho ‘K’ plates.

I want to see video of you out there on Saturday mornings supporting the protests

Reasonable. I can almost see SeaTac from my backyard and still wish I could fly through another airport sometimes

Here’s the one I was looking for. Y’all deserve a better photo than that phone-potato pic

Too tall is so real. My wife’s 63 Valiant convertible’s windshield comes up maybe to my collarbone.

QOTD: What car do you want most, but know would be an absolutely miserable experience to own?

Motorcycle in my case, and did own it for a year. 1993 Ducati 900 Supersport. Ran less a mile total under its own power the year I owned it and cost me about 5500 before I sold it and was just done

And arguably it happens even when it rains a little too hard

Hey now. Careful. Don’t spike the ball at the 2
