Late Saturday night/early Sunday morning a helicopter circled my neighborhood for some time. I was able to go back and identify it, although it had requested that tracking be disabled. I believe it was owned by ISP. It took off from the IMPD training facility at 10th and Post and landed at Greenwood

Ok, sdr trunk up and running, I loaded the MESA control frequencies and audio is flowing. It does a good job of playing different talk groups simultaneously in each stereo channel. I'm curious if I can get the whole spectrum with one dongle since it is 5Mhz. Probably not.

I'll be using an old RTL-SDR dongle and a new antenna, tuned for 1090Mhz for ADS-B plane spotting but definitely close enough to monitor the public safety tower that is within line of sight.

I appreciate Cost Plus Drug's honesty with telling me that filling this RX with them will save me -$36, but I'd love to see where they are finding a retail price of $11 for it... Probably just a data error.
