I have never in my life felt so called out by an author btw
...end but then it got stuck. I think maybe it started over a bunch of times, too, but I don't remember. And some parts of the story got trapped outside of the story space and other bits lost their way. Someone was trying to keep the story from ending, I think. But the story wanted an ending. Endings are what give stories meaning. I don't know if I believe that. I think the whole story has meaning but I also think to have a whole story-shaped story it needs some sort of resolution. Not even a resolution, some appropriate place to leave it. A goodbye. I think the best stories feel like they're still going, somewhere, out in story space. I remember wondering if this story was an analogy about people who stay in places or...

SF Mime Troupe's 2025 "Disruption" is about SF as a suburb of Silicon Valley, poised to be a calm efficient paradise, with a child of immigrants, a well-meaning city efficiency expert, and a working-class red-hat cop who wants to clear the streets, but it's all on FIRE

In a city where nothing is more important than “innovation,” son of immigrants Augie Dimalanta (Jed Parsario) works hard. His friend Elizabeth (Lizzie Calogero) may think patching over problems is counterrevolutionary, but after his shift at the “Fried Thangs Diner” Augie's life’s all about helping his neighbors navigate an increasingly underfunded and inhuman system. His efforts to make up for the cuts are making a real difference, but at what point does he need to stop plugging the holes in the system and try to change it instead? And while Augie is filling holes, tech genius Zubari Macintosh (Alicia Nelson) is busy digging more! As the head of MOPS (The Mayor’s Office of Public Safety) she's all about optimization and “efficiency,” making a city attractive to investors and the right kind of people - and who wouldn’t want that? Never mind that she has no experience beyond developing a social media app - how hard can government be? Maybe the only real barrier to giving the people what they really want all this time has been the inefficiency of democracy itself. And with proudly working-class, red-hatted police officers like Hector Washington (Michael Gene Sullivan) to clear the streets, San Francisco will soon be a beautiful and prosperous suburb of Silicon Valley - and hopefully in time for the president’s upcoming visit. But if the city is poised to be a calm, efficient paradise why is everything suddenly on… FIRE!

Sellers who are found to be violating California’s price gouging statute can be subject to criminal prosecution and could be imprisoned for one year in county jail — and/or a fine of up to $10,000. “Violators are also subject to civil enforcement actions, including civil penalties of up to $2,500 per violation, injunctive relief, and mandatory restitution,” the Department of Justice said. So I was looking for a cat food dish, but the app’s search is broken so browsing the pet category I discovered this masterpiece. I don’t know who is buying this for their pet but please speak up if you do because I would definitely follow them on here
