The last two years it seemed like Knoblauch maybe was the coaching answer the Oilers needed, but this year it’s gotta be at least a little bit a coaching issue. Because the other issue is roster construction, but guess who will probably get the blame first…

Got any ideas for the Canes? The main thing I’ve seen put forward that makes sense is that we have a Stefan Noesen-sized hole. Someone who can park in front of the net and screen/tip/get greasy goals. Even better if they’re a top-6 F

Is the projection affected by players going on/off IR? The main way I can understand Carolina’s pop just now is Chatfield coming off IR. Makes sense if so, just wondering.

Crazy that we’re actually projecting Pittsburgh getting into the playoffs at this point. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me still, but you can’t argue with their current results.

Should we consider this to be a prelude to a trade? Russia seems to have so many weird quirks I don’t know how to read this. Just hope this helps get him going again.

I agree. Reilly has been great, but Nystrom has outplayed him a bit especially with his dynamism and vision

I’m all for changing the rules/enforcement to more strictly penalize and discipline head contact. CTE is a huge risk that should be minimized. Until then, this could’ve been a penalty but doesn’t get discipline

I don’t think Aho’s skating gets remarked on enough. Huge part of why he’s so deadly in OT.

I’d say losing him surely isn’t helping. It felt like the days of bonkers Canes vs Leafs games are over now that he’s gone.

It’s a little early for this, but who do you see being likely to join the Wolves next season? With the European prospects in particular, how much does it depend on how developed they are vs whether they seem to be getting enough opportunity where they are (e.g., Trikozov may’ve been the latter).

I have no dog in this fight, but that seems pretty unobjectionable for a kid that still has a lot to figure out play away from the puck - like almost every young NHL player that never got knocked back and had to figure those things out before.
