Yes they should raise the cap, however they also need to do more to partner and raise up LigaMX Fenmil and the Canadian women's league so that they grow together.

The NWSL will be constrained not only by it's salary cap but by the weakness of leagues in Canada, Mexico and beyond. Because of the global nature of the sport it needs to market itself beyond a single country. And this hemisphere has no competition to compete with the UCL men or women's

So, I have an offbeat take on this. I want to believe that soccer is unique amongst sports and that American leagues shouldn't assume or attempt to replicate the franchise model of the other US sports leagues. As such growth in the US will be constrained by geography if it isnt done in partnership.

Neither does the owner in DC. In any case, they should play in the CPL. Football is organized by country. They shouldn't be playing in a US league.

They should. Garber just made a statement that they are a drain on MLS. They should go to CPL and help build a proper league. MLS ain't it

Its a gimmick... Apple TV is going to open the firewall to regular subscribers too.

MLS had to do something with USL D1 and pro/rel coming. But this won't save them. They'll have to now compete with NFL and NBA plus Euro Leagues. And still no sports bar will show matches.

Yes but so far the grassroots response lacks a focus or real agenda. There should've been targeted protest and demonstrations throughout the shutdown. Republicans were never going to move without being pressured from the streets.

The very fact that it only applies to women's sports is indication that this is about policing the boundaries womanhood and femininity.

Not about sport, fairness or certainly not about protecting women.

There is a long history of this women claim their right to compete in athletic competition.
