Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Imagine if even a fraction of what this administration plans to spend on cages went toward housing people.

Some people have to experiment a lot with gender, some people don't know they're trans early in, there's no changing that.

But for many trans kids it's absolutely clear who they are from a young age. Any professional could tell you that, and the research backs that up.

Trump wants you to think your problems are caused by immigrants.

The reality is that if you're out of a job, a corporation offshored or automated your job. Corporations are squeezing and pricing us out of healthcare. Corporations are buying up our homes.

A Day in the Life of Abed Salama: Anatomy of a Jerusalem Tragedy, by Nathan Thrall is very good and highlights the draconian geographical limitations placed on Palestinians under occupation, and how they are *literally* fatal.

It’s so important to hear from ppl in the Twin Cities. My friends in the suburbs there are fully activated: delivering groceries, dropping handwarmers at detention center protests, and—heartbreakingly—slowing to check the backseats of abandoned cars for kids left by ICE in life-threatening temps.
I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

Protest is righteous! Disruption of Mass has historically been controversial; ie, the Stop the Church action by ACT UP (which I personally find incredibly affecting but many organizers within the group worried was counterproductive in its level of confrontation).

Finished the audiobook of DOPPELGÄNGER read & written by @naomiaklein.bsky.social last night & I wish I could experience it again for the 1st time. Ingeniously balancing personal and structural, it’s a wide-ranging exploration of the maddening doubling that characterizes rightwing ideas these days.

I watched SENTIMENTAL VALUE this past weekend on a plane and found it very moving. I usually do not go for movies about directors making movies, but the family dynamics—particularly the sisters’ relationship—and the emotions of letting go of a family home got me. 🎥🦋💙

This continues to get lost, but Miller is sinking massive resources into boosting the sheer numbers of deportations (to shift the ethnic mix of the country) at the expense of public safety.

This is empirically the case. It's almost never explained this way.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.
