As such, we might say that Iphigenia’s ashes took Agamemnon and Menelaus to Troy on Vulcanus’ fire. That’d be my take :) Anyway, great engraving and a nice find!

The image looks like it depicts Agamemnon and Menelaus (named) sailing to Troy. To turn unfavourable winds, Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia to Artemis. In Euripides’ play on this part of the Troy story, Iphigenia’s body is burnt after the sacrifice “on Hephaestus’ (=Vulcanus’) fire”
