It's 7 am, I'm up putting the finishing touches on my theory chapter, reading a section on resistance practices of enslaved people and suddenly, not for the first time since I've been reading and working on this, I'm crying. I love this work and I'm so grateful to do it but sometimes it's heavy.

'I should like to think that black feminism, as a repertoire of concepts, practices, and alignments, is progressive in outlook and dedicated to the view that sustainable life systems must be available to every one'.
