#realityhunger I once read something along the lines of “We are only as good as we think we are.” if we construct ourselves from what we remember and how we interpret them, are we living as who we are or who we think we are?

#yousoundfamiliar "Did the “interview” succeed? Fail? Transform into something else?" I guess it did succeed because the questions were catered based on my previous responses. And it made sense why GPT asked them.

#yousoundfamiliar How would you describe the tone or shape of the conversation? there was direction that was clear. So the tone was direct and honest. I think if I wanted to play around a little bit more, it could have been more random and playful.

#Yousoundfamiliar For responses were not trying to cater a certain question. I kind of just replied freely and GPT generated based off on details I mentioned for example: When I talked about how i wanted to show proof privately, the question was about privacy.

#yousoundfamiliar "What version of “you” did this conversation create?" hmm I would say just the normal version of me, I gave GPT honest answers. I may have exaggerated details by describing scenes "flowy" but I think that overall helped the direction of the conversations.

#yousoundfamiliar "What didn’t GPT understand about you" Because I was the one being interviewed by GPT, it did not need to understand me, more so the context of where the conversation was going

#yousoundfamiliar This question stayed with me because it was a switch to the boring questions I was being asked in the beginning. I felt like this situational question allowed me to think of imaginary scenarios.

#smeno1fav I would say this question generated was my favorite because I really had to reflect on real moments in my life where I first experienced this. And it is very telling as to why I worry about doing well.

#realityhunger fiction and nonfiction make sense to me (categorizing them) but Sheild's ideas challenges that a ton. They are useful to organize and allows us to build a sense of what to expect. But its not as solid as I thought. They can lead us to a direction, but they do not define meaning

#relalityhunger first time ever learning about what a lyric essay is. It is like scrolling on social media and lacks structure.

#realityhunger Selection, according to Sheilds is a creative act because the ability to choose is already shaping what the meaning/purpose can be. Creative acts in this sense, are curated.

#realityhunger reality according to Sheilds are events that we have remembered them to be. They might be distorted, but they feel true to us.

#realityhunger This made me think of when I would have vivid dreams and when I would wake up I would try to write it all down in my notes. I may skew what I actually dreamed about #badmemory #notsolid

#realityhunger the one-liner that honestly sums it all up.

#realityhunger I say both! Unfortunately, if I get 10 likes on a video i posted on TikTok, I feel like it flopped. If I get 100+ likes, I feel like that give the video a reason it was posted... I sound kind of annoying for that but I know I am not the only one.

#realityhunger I might be too gullible to be a good writer..
February 14, 2026 at 5:51 AM
#realityhunger This makes me uneasy because how much can we rely to be true? Who decides that?
February 14, 2026 at 5:45 AM
#realityhunger ah I now realize why the book is organized by letters and numbers:

#realityhunger I was a huge Hunger Games fan growing up. It was my favorite "fantasy/dystopian" books. Though, technically fiction, as I got older, as the movies came out, I asked: Could this happen? The idea of fact vs fiction becomes blurred. I had conceptualized the series as plausible due to...

#realityhunger Ownership is also complex and not as straightforward as we pretend or think it is.
February 14, 2026 at 5:23 AM
#hungerreality originality is complex and maybe sometimes artificial?
February 14, 2026 at 4:53 AM
#realityhunger this book so far reminds me of The Abolition of Man by CS Lewis who worried about the demise of moral categories because it abolishes meaning. While Sheilds so far is arguing there needs to be an abolition of strict categorization because it limits art/ meaning #bookreccomendation

#realityhunger #whatisoriginality Bringing up an old post I uploaded for TMITM: this reminds me of the quote from Mark Twain that supports this - that no one really has an original idea. It makes me think how fabricated beliefs can be, how social contructs are passed down.

#realityhunger So far I am sensing this argument for the abolition of specific literary genres or structures:
