💥Fascinating new research by Maria Ioannidou et al on denial of animal mind in pescatarians & vegetarians. They attributed moral status & mental abilities in a flexible and self-serving way: to a lower extent to animals associated with consumption behavior.

When looking at these numbers, I can’t help but think that the way we perceive and treat other animals should be one of the most studied research topics of behavioral and social scientists. It has profound implications for ethical frameworks, environmental issues & global health.

Important new research: use of cognitive dissonance strategies is not restricted to meat consumption but is also present for fish, dairy & egg consumption. e.g.dairy/egg consumers tend to deny animal suffering in dairy/egg industry. Great work by Ioannidou et al
