Gus Van Sant kookiness is back. The tone is all over the place but it's a solid examination of vigilante justice that is relevant to today. Bill Skarsgard is great (no surprise) and tries hard to find the line between dark comedy and outright weird. A fun little throwback thriller. C+

Wow, was CHRISTY a mess. A Lifetime movie that, regardless of its true story, plays like a "Writing a Resilient Woman 101" Manuel. Poor Merrit Weaver is left to play a take on Bryce Dallas Howard's character from ROCKETMAN. Ben Foster has one whole expression. D.

This was right up my alley! Ethan Hawke is great, as is Andrew Scott. Qualley seemed superfluous overall. Give me more Rodgers and Hart bickering. Linklater still has the ability to make people talking so compelling. A solid B.

I think more people would argue that The Naked Gun is not the funniest movie of all time, particularly when held up against SOME LIKE IT HOT, THE GREAT DICTATOR, and MONTY PYTHON.

Mind you sites do this explicitly so people will argue and they’re easy traffic pulls but
