Troy got a lot better with its big mythology dlc. Game originally suffered from trying to straddle the line between historical and fantasy. Became an actually good game when you could choose which side of the divide you wanted to play.

I heard that theological textbooks were revised because of it, and this is from a denomination that doesn't worry about Satanism very much (Lutheranism). So it definitely got some traction in that world.

I think that it's more an attempt to assuage history fans for when they announce Total Warhammer 40k at the game awards in a few days.
