I learned how to operate the VCR before the age of 3 and watched my VHS copies of The Sword In The Stone and Pinnochio so many times I wore them out

That's a very kind offer, and I would give it a good home, but would feel like I'd be robbing you of the opportunity of hanging it someday, even if it's a small one. 😂

Thanks for telling me the artist's name, tho! I will look up/maybe buy a print myself

I'll never get the foot thing, but yes - Jackie Brown is his best film. One of my favorite film experiences I've had was seeing Coffey and Foxy Brown with Pam Grier in attendance and having her sign my DVD copy of Jackie Brown. Classy lady.

You're not wrong. The Kill Bill supercut is the exception to the rule.

They're kind of the same thing. I said general movie fans, not general audiences. But runtimes on even the big blockbusters have gotten significantly longer.

Every screening at the Varsity sold out this weekend.

Every. Single. One.

And Tarantino? In the very small chance you see this:

Even though I don't like half your movies, your fan boys are obnoxious and I'll never understand the feet thing: Thank you. I wouldn't be the film buff and now film editor I am without you.

Putting on my "Professional" cap here: I know for a fact that Sally Menke's Editing has influenced me as an Editor. When I'm working on an assembly, there's often a point where I use her work as a point of reference for how to use a piece of music or how to pace a scene.

Regardless of your opinions of QT as a person or filmmaker, I think Kill Bill (and to an extent, Jackie Brown, my personal favorite) is owed a debt of gratitude. Without it, a whole generation of cinephiles might not have discovered the many genres & films that inspired Kill Bill in the same way.

Also: having this film now as one continuous story gives Kill Bill much more of its own identity as opposed to two separate "homage" films. It strengthens Tarantino's voice as a filmmaker here.

I think TWBA having a general release stands as a testament to two things

1) How much movie audiences have changed and diversified.

2) How important Kill Bill is for millennial cinephiles as their gateway drug to Hong Kong Cinema, Spaghetti Westerns and 70s Exploitation.

TWBA also eases the transition in tone between 1 and 2 with a bit more grace. I've always really enjoyed Vol. 2, but I hope this version makes more general movie fans reconsider it.

I will never understand the appeal of him for them, nor do I want too

Didn't even have to look at my camera roll to know it was gonna be the sexy raccoon

Trader Joe's just isn't worth getting ICE'd, either.

It's gonna reaaaally be felt this Christmas. Holiday Shopping across the border was an unofficial National Pastime for a lot of Canadians. That's a conservative estimate.
