I am so much smarter than my teenage self - I no longer walk to and from school in the dark at -30C in a mini skirt!

Where I grew up it was outdoor recess until -28C absolute or -40C with windchill. The noon sun is also noticeably higher and brighter here on winter solstice

Honestly, I think this is the reason they encourage immigrants to start in the north... then they move south and think it's bright and warm!

I'm feeling particularly productive because I had my first regular shower since my ear surgery.

Like, really, I couldn't quite convince the nurse who administered our shot, but the nurse who called three days later to 'confirm' said our phase 1 reason was valid!

I can see why!

My pasta went from hard boil to soft boil instantly, boil-overs will be much harder!

I spilled flour next to my pot and no burning... it was cold, I could just wipe it away.
