Dramatic sky for dramatic times.

As we headed to the airport after two weeks in Rio de Janeiro, our driver pointed out some dilapidated warehouses and boarded up buildings, covered in graffiti. “Trump bought this land in 2012. He was going to build five towers.”

We did get a chuckle at the book dedication. I do not discount that the West had to be irrigated to support the influx of emigrants, but I think Brigham Young was the one saying “figure it out,” not the one actually figuring it out. “Founder” is doing a lot of work here. /x

Leme Beach in Rio earlier this afternoon. I think I’ll make it into a puzzle for a day that I’m snowed in in Boise.

Had a picnic lunch on my parents’ graves this afternoon and then took my kids to Taylor church (the Eras Tour movie) and found myself sobbing during “Marjorie.” Go figure.

I had a chicken khachapuri for lunch and it was wonderful. Thanks for the recommendation!

Tonight, my husband called me “Princess Fika with her snacks”, and honestly, it fits. Scandi cred right there, just replace the coffee with Diet Coke.
