As per @steipete.me recommendation, I replaced Google with Kagi (paying $10/m) while already using Perplexity for AI-searches.

Just being able to raise, lower and pin hosts is such a big quality of life upgrade.

Google auto opted in *every* paying Google Workspace user to Gemini. Also adding a nice increase in price, even though no one opted into it.

You cannot turn off / opt out.

Except... if you open a support ticket.

Only then does Google enable the setting to turn it off!

As a: Google product manager

I want to: make AI mandatory everywhere within Google products

Because: I am a complete piece of shit
If a new feature annoys users, makes their product usage more difficult/distracting, and cannot be turned off for paying customers:

This is not "AI."

It's a feature to increase customer churn - regardless of how cleverly engineered it is, how how expensive it was to build.
