Apparently it didn't post the animated version, apparently there are separate options and you can't just upload a gif and have it post as is.
I like the #fediverse (even bsky's "fediverse in name only") but some of the UI decisions these apps make are weird.

There's plenty of "evidence" of "large drones" that just happen to look exactly like conventional aircraft but I guess just give off a spooky vibe.

I don't trust capitalist incentives in any online platform - no matter what the intention, they'll inevitably integrate dark patterns, emotional and psychological manipulation, surveillance and algorithms pandering to the lowest common denominator to maximize engagement and revenue.
