An economist fighting conservative and right wing misinterpretations of economic theory. Why? Because bad economics generates confusion and conflict. USA. 💙

I think it's just their way of giving the middle finger to the arts, culture, the humanities, people who support that sort of thing. Republicans, "We can't understand and hate all that stuff. I know, why don't we call that place they do it in as the Epstein-Trump Center? That will put them off it."

It makes many prone to accepting the fascist solution, eliminate democratic government, while reducing their ability to address the real problem, the economically powerful establishment elite who BTW also dominate fascism, and the flawed values, morals, idea of conservative, Republican voters.

Conservative, Republican voters hate democracy with a passion. They're fascists.
December 20, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Really? Insane. I can't imagine going to a show in a building named the Epstein-Trump Center or whatever it was. The place is apparently for Republicans / American Nazis only at this point. But do Nazis really go to the theater, watch dance, opera, listen to orchestral music, that sort? Whatever.

The old southern "Dixiecrats" haven't been Democrats since, what, 1950? They've been Republicans for decades. But yes, one can still find plenty of conservatives in the Democratic Party, as those endorsing conservative / "neoliberal" economics, or those from very conservative parts of the nation.

But if you don't engage with their sickly, poisonous, rhetorical rot, the fact it's false may well go unnoticed by many. When you hear people talking anti-democracy bad economics in the conservative style, as market utopianism, or crypto-fascist / fake anarchist / "libertarian" rot, speak up.
December 20, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Right. Seems quite close to the histrionic rhetoric conservatives once applied to gay people. "If we don't constantly oppress and victimize gay people, everyone will become gay, then where will we be?" So everyone is really gay? And everyone will become transgendered if we don't fight against it?

Conservative, Republican voters don't give a damn about the well-being of kids, or anyone else to be honest. And they consider the notion of "public" health a woke, liberal, Democrat, welfare state, socialist idea. Just saying. If those are your concerns ...

It wasn't a "riot." It was a carefully planned, orchestrated, intentional terrorist attack. Just saying.
December 19, 2025 at 7:43 PM
The establishment elite has poured shiploads of money into promoting their fascist views, and in areas of the nation with inferior educational opportunities, such as the south and central regions, they pretty much call the tune. But they have an Achille's Heel: their arguments are false.

There are no easy fixes. We can't just do a little this, a little that, and fix The System. We have work to do. Intellectual work. Everyone should strive to understand the appeal and be prepared to effectively oppose anti-democracy bad economics in the conservative style, bad religion, racism.
December 19, 2025 at 7:30 PM
Do you perceive the link between that nonsense and ubiquitous bad economics in the conservative style and its market utopianism, promoted or coddled within academia, a misinterpretation of neoclassical welfare economics, seemingly built for the purpose of generating just such misinterpretation?
December 19, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Have you noticed at all the theme in American popular culture over the past several decades that democratic government is bad, ineffective, inefficient, unnecessary; it must be rendered weak, small, inactive, nonexistent; that voters and their economic values and views must be sidelined?
December 19, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Absolutely. People are always talking about trying to fix The System, but what manner of wondrous system could preserve democracy in the face of citizens who support anti-democracy fascism / gangsterism? We need to address the bad economics, bad philosophy, generating popular support for fascism.
December 19, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Yes. People need to understand this is not a funny little one off, a flash in the pan, an anomaly. It's not. US conservatives Republicans are fascists. Look into the intellectual basis of it and address it: above all else, bad economics in the conservative style, but also bad religion and racism.
December 19, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Funny. About conservatives' famous opposition to inheritance taxes, where conservative rhetoric about the ostensible link between economic power and individual merit goes to die.
December 19, 2025 at 6:52 PM
"Persuadable GOP?" What's that? The GOP is pretty much entirely composed of committed, establishment elite anti-democracy fascists / gangsters. And you propose Democrats find 20 of them to turn against their fascist Leader / crime boss, Lord Dampnut? Doesn't sound very realistic to me.
December 19, 2025 at 4:12 AM
That's the problem with Sacred Cows, isn't it? No one can think or speak directly, honestly about them. Where do you suppose the enthusiastic popular support for conservative, right wing fascism / gangsterism comes from? Far too many, "Hmm. No one really knows. It's a big old mystery."
