Some of the detainees at the California City detention facility were detained at immigration hearings.

Many did not have prior criminal records, according to Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff. They conducted an oversight tour at the facility on Tuesday.

Last year, the U.S. Department of Justice sued California, along with 22 other states and Washington, D.C., for access to their full, unredacted voter files. That includes driver’s license, social security numbers and other sensitive data. @laist.com
