Factorio is way too addictive game. I've spent 5.5h already and I am facing the need to rebuild the whole factory from scratch 🤣

You don't need to add a dark theme if that's the only theme you have in the first place!

No app is perfect for everyone. What's ideal for one is useless for another.

(e.g. to-do apps or note-taking apps.)

"Best" is subjective and personal. Your favorite might be my nightmare.

What matters is finding the right fit.

That's why there’s room for 200 competitors.
Pick one and own it
What if your company could have only one single advantage over the competition? This exercise will make your positioning and strategy stronger.

Got a question about updating technical content on YT.
We all know that technical content must be updated occasionally.
I can update it on the blog. But if I make a video and publish it on YT, I'd need to update it as well.
And ofc an old video should stay because it has been linked/bookmarked.

I wrote for the twelve days of christmas article series on the @fronteers blog:

What determines the accessible name of an element?

Dutch: www.fronteers.nl/nl/blog/2024...

English: www.fronteers.nl/en/blog/2024...

Enjoy and Merry Christmas 🎄
Wat bepaalt de toegankelijke naam van een element?
De toegankelijke naam van een element is hoe de browser een element doorgeeft aan hulptechnologieën zoals een screenreader of braille bord, en vormt de manier waarop iemand die een site niet (goed) ka...

Plan for the rest of the holiday season is to ship at least 10 tutorials.
Let's see how it goes.
1 of 10 is done, second draft is half ready.

First you learn about something on higher level.
It works for a while. Then you read docs in-depth and O.M.G. there is a lot to learn.
I had more time recently to go over docker compose specs. There's a lot of useful stuff! So much parameters that could make life easier.
Back to learning.

While everyone is tolerating their relatives, I am updating the old content on the @appliku.com blog.
It is such a burden, because tools get updated, deprecated, they change.
Also, my approach also changes and revisiting the old content often ends up in full rewrite.
But that's fun and useful.

In the last couple of weeks, shipped static sites support to @appliku.com, made a lot of improvements to cron jobs management.

Now i will take some time to write guides for deploying static sites and work on the new documentation site.

Reading more about YML configuration files for different providers now. It is insane how much complexity there is. Not that their files are bad, but the topic is complicated.
Services, addons, per branch configurations, precedence of YML file over dashboard configuration.
Can of worms. OMG

Holiday chill time. That means, it is time for figuring out some new feature, that I can think through, plan carefully and try to implement without rushing it.

Figured I will finally work on Appliku's YML file.

Quite a lot of stuff to learn. YML schema, validation, etc.
