Just one look at the map of this "plan" and you realize that this is a barely passing grade for an undergraduate poli sci or urban planning project, so who would have thought a project dreamed up by an imbecile nepo baby (Kushner) would be in any way feasible or even sane?
“President Trump has extravagant plans for the Gaza Strip. The only problem is that they bear no connection to the grim realities on the ground,” Hussein Ibish argues.
Trump’s Gaza Plans Are Profoundly Unserious
Conditions on the ground call for immediate humanitarian relief, not gauzy real-estate fantasies.

Just had a colleague submit a course proposal that was entirely AI generated slop. A history course with no history methodology, no actual content, but hey... he had a catchy title "Coded Kingdoms".

Is this the end result of embracing AI? And he's of course on the university's new AI taskforce.
It is exhausting to sit in meetings a/b “AI” & to have colleagues who’ve got nothing but logical-fallacy-laden big tech pro-AI talking points basically project on you their own laziness & malpractice. Care to see my no-genAI policy, bud? It’s got dozens of carefully considered rationales & footnotes

In Germany they are giving away 4000 tons potatoes because of a record harvest. In the US they would have destroyed them to protect corporate profits.
4,000 tons of potatoes to be given away for free  - The Berliner
Berliner Morgenpost and Ecosia are giving away an enormous crop of potatoes for free to Berliners to save them from waste.

Maybe it's time to rethink the World Cup this summer? Too bad FIFA have their nose so far up Trump's ass that it will never happen. Scotland have essentially won Group C if Brazil, Morocco, and Haiti are banned.
The US is no longer processing visas from these 75 countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bhutan, Bosnia, Brazil, Burma, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, /1

To be fair, Calibri is not an esthetically pleasing font, and I prefer using Garamond or Constantia.

That being said, all my emails will be in Calibri for the foreseeable future.

Had Tom Cotton been a senator during the Vietnam War, he would have been one of the ones trying to prosecute Hugh Thompson for stopping the My Lai massacre.
Q: What did you see in the second strike?

Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

A few photos from my trip to Potsdam for the SHoW conference, which is one of my (if not THE) favorite conferences, and not just because it gives me an excuse to avoid Thanksgiving in the US. @sochistorywar.bsky.social

When I get these requests, I reply that without a documented reason, I am required to give everyone the same treatment. But it is maddening.

But these requests come in more frequently and later in the term than they ever did before.
