As a GP of 30y & trainer I know how complex seeing undiagnosed patients is. Using PAs who have had limited experience & training was & is unsafe. NHSE should have been aware of this. The failure to fund GP practices to retain & recruit GPs whilst funding ARRS is a huge failure

As a GP, I am not allowed to receive a pen or post-it note pad from a pharmaceutical company rep

Govt banned them in case I was influenced to prescribe medications

This should also be banned

If the general public understood that resident doctors are simply asking for £22ph and for jobs to be available for them to specialise in - instead of having cost the taxpayer £250k to then have to drive Ubers and leave wards hideously short staffed - the govt would lose the argument overnight.

Yep. And no prizes for guessing where the private patient is sent when routine procedures go wrong or there are complications - and at whose expense.
This is quite an important point that very rarely gets covered in conversations about private vs public healthcare - emergency care.

Because as a rule, private hospitals have neither the facilities or skills to handle acute illness and accident (no A&E, ITU or MDT set of staff) - and even more 1/
Slightly off topic Bear, but I read about Jeremy Clarkson's recent health emergency where he ended up going to his local A & E Dept.

Very surprised to find out that his private health firm could not provide him with local emergency care and would have had to send him two hours away to London.

Invest in staff and you'll have a well functioning NHS that serves the population well.

Retain and commit to the 100,000 staff threatened with redundancy, and pay Resident Doctors what they're owed.

Just a thought.

The power lies with the people, and once they realize that the crumbs immigrants have, and the crumbs Disabled People get and the crumbs pensioners get don't add up to anything at all.

Then they will realize the people who own everything have the bread.

3 things Starmer could do instead of camps in old barracks that would actually WORK👇

1. Create safe, regulated routes to apply for asylum in the UK

2. Let asylum seekers WORK & support themselves

3. Fast track status for people from obviously unsafe countries

Truly unbelievable. We know that austerity Mark 2 will lead to more suffering and deaths.

This is not what we voted for - this and the coming cuts to benefits for those with disability will end in disaster for England and Labour.
"Rehabilitation centres face being shut, talking therapies services cut & beds for end-of-life care reduced as part of efforts by NHS trusts to comply with a 'financial reset'."
