Not all people are expected to be good at math or be able to do large number math/algebra in their heads, all programmers are expected to know how to write and debug code.

Prolonged use of AI for cognitive tasks (which is what most people use them for) has a negative effect on critical thinking and reasoning skills, its been studied.
I personally don't use AI because I already have the most powerful computational engine ever made inside my skull.
