There's a version of "loosening the reins" that supports amateur artists, fanfiction writers, cosplay, crafts, and the public cultural commons. It has nothing to do with generative AI and everything to do with IP law. The Disney/OpenAI deal has nothing to do with creativity, storytelling, or culture
