Agree - the charity of the uber-rich appears to be focused on the politicians that benefit them the most. Tax them properly, as we did in the 50s and 60s, and use the revenue to feed and house the homeless - and institute universal health care like civilized nations have done.

Since they usually loiter in front of a store offering food, I occasionally buy some food for them rather than giving them money, but I didn't think of the lawnmaker's comment about their having to pay for a room.
Agree that we should keep charitable giving local and direct if possible.

That's what Trump ended up doing in his first term as president. At first, he grabbed the notes from his translator so there was no record - but then he wised up, went in without a U.S. translator, and depended on the Kremlin translator.
