I assume you know more about Sidney Samson than I do, since all I know of his is this remix from 14 years ago (did you introduce it to me? it's remixing a favela funk track c. 2010 about a notorious dance move) but this accidentally sounds very in the spirit of budots

I assume you know more about Sidney Samson than I do, since all I know of his is this remix from 14 years ago (did you introduce it to me? it's remixing a favela funk track c. 2010 about a notorious dance move) but this accidentally sounds very in the spirit of budots

Well, in my searches I have discovered Philippine Budots remixes that are labeled "Thai mixes" and Indonesian mixes of Thai songs and Thai tracks that are labeled "Indo mixes," and w/ the Internet being what it is, I expect some of these forms to leap the continents.

Story, according to Wikip but I'm not 100% sure: song was written by Norwegians with a certain American artist (not named) in mind, was shopped around, eventually bought by SM Entertainment but in the meantime Dineyra had already put out an unauthorized version.

Agree that Nick's idea is great; we should do everything we can to help Uzbekistan and hinder Europe and North America - though it'd be too bad that "Raqsga tushgin" won't have to face off against "Genie."

My problem wasn't that it was German rather than, say, Jamaican (it's obviously German) but that it was too high profile and that the coach should've looked for something more surprising.

I remember one year someone chose Boney M's "Rasputin" as a Germany entry and I love "Rasputin" but voted against because something so high-profile didn't seem in the spirit of the tournament. But that was on Freaky Trigger. A bsky poll, even a People's Pop one, is a somewhat different animal.
