December is the time for fairytales for me, and while not exactly a fairytale, I still like to think my 2018 mock-up cover illustration for the classic Cretan ballad of Erotokritos looks moody enough for one 🗡️💔

Page 2. "You should'a come got me!" Whitney continues, rushing for the wardrobe to find her own clothes for the night out. "I was totally spacing out! You know how I get!" Pepper stands motionless in the background, still glued to her own reflection. Whitney hasn't noticed her. "Oh my god... I booked the fancy place." Whitney thinks out loud. "No way in hell we get a refund this time... Babe, we might be cooked." - Only then does she notice, over her shoulder, her girlfriend hasn't moved the entire time. "Babe? Page 3. "You're not dressed yet..?" Whitney asks, coming over to stand behind Pepper and see what's going on. "Is there something wrong with the dress?" - Finally, Pepper responds with a glum: "Um... I don't think I can wear this tonight...". Her eyes have sunk low, unable to look either Whitney or herself in the eyes.

I went to a life drawing class last weekend.
It was very nice. We were all women, except for the artist giving instructions and feedback. I finished 4 drawings of the same model and I think you can actually see progress between them. Her eyes in the last one look almost like hers.

Again, I concentrated on shading areas, this time relying mostly on a piece of graphite. She has her arms crossed and a determined look on her face. Her hair is a wild curly mane. Her legs are too short. Because there was not enougth space on the paper. And I did not want to cut her feet off. The countour are highlighted by shading the background with black charcoal. Except for the hair. I didn't dare. Drawing of a nude standing woman in different, muted shades of charcoal. The technique concentrates mostly on shapes and shading, giving the drawing a painterly look. Her stance is rather relaxed, one leg to the front, the other to the back, one hand on her waist, with the other arm she leans on something I did not draw (a chair) She looks to the left which is also, where I highlighted the contours by shading the background in another colour. Not on the right side, though because of curly black hair... Drawing of a semi-nude sitting woman with a blue-grey kimono. Done in graphite (the body) and charcoal (the kimono). Her hair is very curly. I concentrated mostly on shading areas, getting light and shadows right. The pose is relaxed, with one arm she is leaning on something I only hinted at, her other arm rests on the opposite leg.

Selling Sexy Comics, an Hourly Comics Day Special by Jey Pawlik, done in cool minty green tones with heavy blacks and black linework, with some oranges and yellows just on books and the booth. Adults should be allowed to buy porn!” Max agrees and says “I know, but at least we still have in-person shows we can sell these at.” Narration: 10pm Two suitcases are ready to go with a handwritten ribbon above them “all packed”, while Max and Jey look exhausted. Max wearily says “Well, that’s the last of it, finally.” Jey is on the ground giving a thumbs up. The two get ready for bed, brushing their teeth and washing their faces. Jey says “Shows are a lot of work, huh? Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it.” Narration: 11pm, 12am, 1am Max and Jey are in bed and Max replies “Sure, but remember after every show we always say something like: That was fun, let’s do it again!” Jey says “That’s true! I hope the zine sells well.” Max says “Me too.” A pink banner unfurls across the bottom of the page, stating, "Read the rest on Oh Joy Sex Toy.com"

The first one is a little sapphic and the rest - they are just having fun. 🕺

I had some time to draw tonight. So why not show my progress for WIP wednesday.

I am still trying to figure out a nudibranch mermaid. I should attach the rhinophores to her head better, I think.

A squirrel waiter. It owns a Café in a tree frequented by fairies and woodland creatures.
