Fair enough. True that I wouldn't have a place there without an emergency source of heat. When I was there with kids we had heat pump, woodstove, and gas fireplace, but we were an hour out of the city in outage prone gated community and could afford to belt and suspenders.

I was in the Chicago area the last decade, until to a year ago. I put multiple heat pumps into our property there and was very happy with the results. I'm much more worried about hot weather trying to kill people than cold there at this point. Myself I moved to the rockies very deliberately...

That is no longer true. The newest heat pumps can manage some output even at -30F. And anyone doing new construction should make the effort to put in a ground loop not just for heating purposes but for extreme hot days as well. Might save lives not too far out.

Yeah that happens. I didn't have or seek out their album(s) so don't really have an opinion. I suspect they fall in the one hit wonder camp who had some good tunes that just didn't get them above the noise floor. Men Without Hats come to mind, just the one song hit but that album was pretty sick.
