The second of four #StephenWestMKAL shawls that have been sitting in the corner for years. This one is awaiting a border, but I'm letting it hang for a bit to stretch and loosen up before I pick up 491 stitches along the I-cord binding so I can practice the dip stitch.

Last night, the City Council was prevented from voting on a resolution to declare the city a sanctuary for trans and non-binary gender people when Councilors Colorio and Bergman suggested that we *might* risk losing some federal funds if we stand up in support of our residents. It's time to stand up
Worcester Knitty Council Stands with the Queer Community. We have always and will always be a space that accepts, respects, and protects the rights of LGBTQIA+2S people to show up as their full selves in all areas of their lives. We are appalled that the City Council has not condemned the use of a transphobic slur against a sitting City Councilor, nor acknowledged the pattern of disrespect directed at Councilors Nguyen, Haxhiaj, and King, nor followed through on the promise to publicly apologize to Councilor Nguyen. We currently meet virtually via Zoom on Sundays, from 2-5 pm. All are welcome - beginner and crochet-friendly. Please DM for Zoom link on Sundays.

Beginning this week, Knitty Council will be meeting virtually on Sundays in order to allow easier participation during the winter months. We also stand with CC Nguyen and ask our members to show up in person Tuesday, January 28 at City Hall to support them. Event Link: facebook.com/events/s/kni...

It's a new year, and we're back! This Sunday marks our two year anniversary & our founder's birthday eve. There will be cake! Drop by to say happy birthday, have a piece of cake, and get the lowdown on the soap opera that is this week's City Council agenda.
