Also if you leave the wooden door to the "fridge" propped open, it will cool your cans significantly better.

I take it you're staying off-strip or downtown where you're not protected by the zone fares?
The only way I'll trust a Vegas cabbie is if it's one of those zones and I know how much it's supposed to be.
